Preparation time: 30 minutes + 5 minutes
What you need for 5dl chai concentrate:
- 50 gr fresh ginger
- 5-6 cloves
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 2 large cinnamon sticks
- 1 tbsp vanilla paste
- 8 cardamom pods, crushed
- 500 gr cane sugar
- 8 dl water
Place all the ingredients in a pan, bring to the boil and simmer on a low heat for 10 minutes. Then add 10 bags of black tea and leave to infuse for 10 minutes. The syrup can be kept in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.
Dirty Chai Latte
- 15 ml homemade chai concentrate
- 100 ml milk of your choice
- 1 espresso (medium to dark roast, finely ground)
- 1 pinch of cinnamon
Froth the chai concentrate together with the milk. Add the espresso and sprinkle with cinnamon.
